This week on Thank God for Movies, Jon Negroni and Will Ashton catch up on a packed stretch of the 2026 summer movie season with reviews of Toy Story 5, The Furious, and Disclosure Day. But first, we run through the state of the box office, from the live-action Moana stumbling out of the gate to Evil Dead Burn, The Invite, Minions and Monsters, Supergirl, Jackass: Best and Last, Girls Like Girls, The Death of Robin Hood, and Leviticus.

Then it’s time for Toy Story 5. It’s Pixar’s billion-dollar-bound legacy sequel that shifts the focus to Jessie as Bonnie becomes obsessed with a new tablet. After that, we turn to The Furious. It’s the blistering martial arts action film that one of us even calls a defining genre movie of the decade. Finally, Jon and Will review Steven Spielberg’s Disclosure Day. It’s an original alien sci-fi drama starring Emily Blunt, Josh O’Connor, Colin Firth, Colman Domingo, Eve Hewson, and Wyatt Russell.
